This stunning, four-star deluxe hotel is London's second highest rated four-star hotel. Adjacent to Buckingham Palace Gardens, opposite the Royal mews, the glass-panelled lounge offers fantastic views of the pageantry and Royal occasions. Each room has been personally designed with thoughtful extras for business travellers as well as homely comforts for all of our leisure clientele.

The attractive breakfast buffet and carvery dinner are available in Old Masters Restaurant, whilst fine dining in The Library caters for all tastes. You have to ask yourself when staying at the Rubens: Is there anything they haven't thought of to make a guest's stay so very special?

Rooms overlooking Buckingham Palace gardens can be requested at the time of reservation. The hotel has a variety of rooms, including a full selection of rear-facing quiet rooms in which guests can choose to relax in pure comfort. The recently opened and fully refurbished Royal Wing comprises of eight Royal themed rooms. These themes include Henry the Eighth and Mary Queen of Scots in the finest of plush surroundings dedicated to the history of royalty. Each of the rooms has a marble bathroom, exquisite furnishings and precise attention to detail. The bathrooms are all stunning marble with TV screens ensuring guests can relax in the bath and keep up to date with the latest news, views and current affairs. Red Carnation Hotel's philosophy of no request too large, no detail too small is embodied by each and every team member. Favourable comments state just how wonderful and attentive the staff are, ensuring that guests expectations are met and exceeded.

Area information

Adjacent to Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews, the hotel is a short walk from Victoria train, underground and bus stations. This is an excellent location for the Victoria Palace Theatre and Victoria Apollo Theatre, and only a short walk from Westminster, Green Park and Shaftesbury Avenue.

Smoking is permitted in the Lounge/Bar and designated bedrooms.
Please note that for bookings of 10 or more people cancellations must be received 4 weeks in advance of arrival or full charge will be made.

Cancellations must be made 1400hrs local time on the day prior to arrival.

An extra bed will cost 30 GBP and can only be accommodated in the Executive King room. Extra beds need to be confirmed with the hotel.

Attentivness of the staff, Central to London, Good value,

Could be doing with a little more tlc on frontage of what is an old and
Beautiful building, however on saying that this just added to the
atmosphere of a grand and regal hotel.

The staff were so very helpful and friendly. Location was central to all the sites of London. Would definatley stay there again!

The room was a bit small, especially to set out luggage.No fridge to keep water or pop cool.

All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Room was very clean.

Rooms are very small, lobby can be very crowded at times and can be noisy.

Hotel staff was very polite and friendly.

Floor makes a squeaky noise when you walk around. Toilet didn't flush well.

the location and air conditioning in the room. Staff friendly and helpful.

I requested a non-smoking room but was given a smoking room on arrival, residual smell of smoke in the room all of my stay. The room was so small and for £140 per night, not good value. Also the TV was on the blink on my second night.

The location was excellent for central London

Our room was quite noisy as it was next to an external generator & the housekeepers storeroom, but the location out weighed this. inconvenience
